New aftermarket replacement mirror - unpainted

Replacing a damaged outside side view mirror with a new aftermarket mirror is a simple process requiring no special tools. The most difficult aspect of the replacement is painting the mirror to match the color of the car. There are retail automotive paint suppliers that can mix and store the paint in a pressurized aerosol can thereby allowing painting before installation.

Open the door and use a small plastic pry bar to remove the interior black plastic triangular cover opposit the outside mirror.  Pull the cover from the upper corner to relieve the hold tension from the plastic retention pin.  Once the pin has been removed from the pin hole, angle the cover away from the mount then pull up.

Disconnect the electric connector socket and unbolt the three 10mm nuts that secures the mirror to the door.  The third nut has a plastic cover that must be removed to expose the nut.  Remove this nut last while holding on to the mirror.

Reverse the outlined steps for new mirror installation.  When installing the interior mirror cover, first position the cover in the door panel then align the cover pin with the pin hole.  Push or gently tap the cover until the pin snaps into the pin hole.
